Put Together

Some family friends are coming over today- this is the first time in a week that I've actually bothered to wear anything other than workout clothes and a ponytail! It feels good to dress well, and in that regard I can't wait for school to start up again. There's no point of looking nice when there's nobody to see.
Anyway.

I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture, but my eyeliner is actually a green- photographing makeup is sooo hard! This is one of about 12 pictures I took trying to get the green to show.... None of them obviously worked.
In any case prepare for some more makeup pictures in the future as I work on this skill.

The Hermit Emerges

I went out today (for the first time in a few weeks!) to go have lunch with a few friends. It was lovely, and I was glad to finally leave the house looking presentable. For the last weeks I've been holed up doing summer work (which I'm STILL not done with) and the only place I went was the fencing gym.

Phew! School starts in a few weeks, and although I'm not going to go on a shopping spree (my closet is very small, you know, and new clothes would be a hassle) I am planning on getting socks! Which is always exciting.

Camp

I've never been to a proper sleepaway camp before, so this year is a first! I read a lot of books about summer camps, with their marshmallows and lakes and ghost stories, but I've never actually been- so finally, as a big grown up highschooler, I get to experience that!

I mean, okay, it's not your typical  summer camp- I'm going to Drew University for fencing camp, so we're not going to be doing regular camp things, but it's about as close as I can get at this point! This is a very exciting (and somewhat scary) development.

What if the people aren't nice? What if I get lost? What if I mess up all the time? Arrghhh.

We have to bring ALL our own stuff, too. I mean, we're paying so much money, can't they at least provide toilet paper?
