The Moth

I went with a friend to the Moth the other day. It was FANTASTIC!
If you don't know what it is, it's a radio show on NPR which also has twice a month shows in various venues around the country. The content? Stories! Each event has a theme, and people come up to the microphone (you have to tell them you want to do it first, via the internet or phonecall) and tell them! The stories are absolutely fantastic, and it's a really very wonderful experience. Also, cheap-  $16 for advance tickets (where you get to sit in chairs by the stage) and $8 at the door. Beware, though- try to get there at least an hour before the doors open! The line gets very long pretty fast and they can only let a certain number of people in! Also it is generally standing-room only if you come at the door- but that doesn't really matter because you can sit on the floor; the people don't really need to be seen to enjoy the stories (hence the radio show). An added bonus: The Moth is also a not-for-profit organization, and all the stories told are true!

Here's a link to their website for more information: LINK

It's really incredibly addicting.

This is one of my favourite stories of all time- it justifies my fear of birds originally brought on by Alfred Hitchcock.
