I don't really think this is strange at all? I guess it is, though. I just really have this drive to get better at things and constantly self-improve. Not just with exercising, either. I like improving all aspects of life. I don't know, I guess maybe physical activity has been turned into such a chore that people feel like they can't enjoy it.
It releases endorphins, you know! And when I'm done I feel like I've accomplished something, and I feel a lot more energetic than I did previously. Even just going for a walk can really lift one's mood. I know it feels horrible while its happening, but its scientific fact that working out makes everyone feel better. Really!
Also its very satisfying for me to push myself to the limit, and then do it again and again until that first limit isn't a limit anymore. For example: two months ago it was really hard for me to run more than a mile at a time at a decent pace. My knees would hurt and I would be going very slowly towards the end there- now it doesn't really feel like anything at all! It feels good just to know that I'm able to now, when I couldn't before. I like the feeling of getting stronger and better and faster- and I think everyone else probably does, too (though I wouldn't have started running at all if it weren't for the quickly approaching fencing season.).
Anyway I guess the point here is that maybe exercising isn't your thing, but don't feel like you have to hate it. It doesn't matter how much you do, because it really can make you feel better and happier and more productive.
