Planning Ahead

One thing which I don't entirely understand is how far ahead that fashion companies must design. All of the different collections and shows and fashion weeks must be incredibly taxing. Also, it ends up that you can never buy clothes in the right season! Society demands all of these things to be newer and faster and more innovative- which is why we get a fashion week in September 2013 for Spring 2014. Shouldn't we now be seeing winter clothes? Who actually wears resort? I think it would be a lot less hard on the environment, the designers, and the consumer's wallet if everyone just tried to cool off and let the collections be in stores for more than a week at a time.
