I have been listening lately to this great podcast called "Welcome to Night Vale". It's posing as a community radio news service from a small desert community. To these citizens, the strange goings- on are nothing to be remarked on, and they simply carry on with their lives through the crisis of the Glow Cloud, the institution of a summer reading program at the library, and the uncertainty of staring into the void of space.
All of this is narrated by Cecil Baldwin, whose voice is by turns lovely and soothing and incredibly creepy (Cecil Baldwin, actually, is the name of both the character and the actor who plays him). The podcast is hilarious, most of the time, but if you listen to it at night, alone, it can be rather frightening!
I can't really do it justice here, for it is rather indescribable.
Even better- It's totally free! I suggest you download just the first episode and see how you like it. I think its a brilliant idea, and I love it to pieces.
